I would set the cold tire pressure to the placard specs. Dealers always overinflate tires - why, I do not know.

Thanks, all tire pressure was set as sticker. The turning appears to be harder especially in the low speed, but the ride is more comfortable.

Still waiting....

Still in "Order Processing". I ordered it at the dealer on 4/30/11, but spoke with BMWNA and was told it was ordered on 4/22/11. Does this mean my order was a previous dealer allocation?

Any idea when I can expect a movement in "Order Processing"?

Your dealer should have told you when the estimated build week is for your car. You'll likely see little or no movement until that date comes up.

It was likely a scheduled "lot" car, but the dealer has changed the config to suit what you're ordering. You'll still need to wait for your dealer's "turn" (allocation) to come up before your car is built tho.

I ordered on 4/23, and my car is due to be built last week of May, 'cos that's when my dealer's allocation was. Another guy on the forum ordered on 4/30 and already has his car...

Finally heard from my CA regarding my X5 production. Apparently a chip used with the Navigation system is from Japan and they are having trouble getting them.

Mid week? They'll usually give you a build week (e.g. Week 22) rather than a specific date.
Maybe they got a specific date from BMW NA... but that'd be unusual.

Does the phone check simply state "Your order is scheduled for production with no confirmed production date yet"?

Yes, that's exactly what it says. It has said that since May 6th.

Same here. I'm intrigued - what's the last four of your prod number? Mine's XXX8266. I think we're scheduled for the same week - but my dealer has said nothing about the nav delay? :|

I spoke to my dealer yesterday - she still tells me my car is on target for Week 22 build (which is the week after next).

Many recent orders were apparently pulled forward a week, so I'm hopeful build will start some time next week!
BuffaloX5... how about you? are *you* still on schedule?

Are most of you guys going into a dealer and customizing using their system or are you doing it through BMW's website?

Either way, by not taking what's on the lot or what will "be" on the lot, and building your own are you able to negotiate below MSRP?

Sorry brother. No one pays MSRP unless you are buying a Porsche Cayenne. Go to something like truecar.com. Put in all your options. See what the invoice price is.. Work from there. You shouldn't have to pay more than $1500 over invoice. An easily calculation for invoice price on the X5. MSRP x .93.
In general people here won't talk about the final price they paid, the Money Factor in their lease or the Int rate in their loan. But with sites like the above, you can sort of see what other people paid.

That's not a bad deal, I believe it's about $1300 over invoice.
