2012 future owners

Slevit1 i'm glad yours got to maryland today, hopefully mine will show up in NY tomorrow. My dealer told me monday or tuesday on friday and obviously that was not the case, now they are saying they have no idea(as if they had any idea before)

Exact same thing happened to me, and it just showed up today. CA finally called and I'll be picking it up at 6 tonight! It's extremely frustrating, but once the carrier has it, it doesn't seem like they have any idea where it is on its way to you. Apparently some people in NY have already gotten theirs (before me, in MD), so I'm not sure if there's any real logic to how they're doing it or not. If it has anything to do with build completion date, mine was done on 4/2. I'm sure it will show up for you very shortly.

4/2 was a saturday, i've been told that mine was done on 4/1 and 4/4 so I don't know which to believe.

Sorry, you're right, mine was actually completed on 4/1. Either way, yours should arrive any day (or any hour).

For people that have received delivery, what does the 1-800 number say? Did it ever update from "Your vehicle was released to a carrier..."?

For you folks who've taken delivery already....is their an engine break in period that your ca advised you of?

Yup, he said that I shouldn't take it too hard, or use cruise control for too long, for the first 4,000 miles or so. He also said there would be various smells as things get used for the first time.

It's called RTFM.

My CA just told me it came in last night, Hopefully I'm picking it up Saturday. They said they need time to prep and program the vehicle.....

At least I can live vicariously through the pics those of you are putting up that have already received your X5s. CA told me mine was supposed to arrive yesterday. No love. Today, checks in and says honestly has no idea when it's coming, although 'should be soon.'

So should I appreciate the candor, or be frustrated that him knowing either is, or isn't, the truth...???

If you haven't yet ordered your BMW, I'd highly recommend that you consider adding active cruise control to your vehicle! It is about the most amazing thing I've ever experienced in a car and I can't imagine that I'll ever purchase a car without it again.

It literally takes you from highway speeds to a dead stop (if the situation calls for it), and then picks right back up when the car in front of you starts moving again. Stop and go traffic is no longer something you need to worry about. When just cruising along, you hardly notice it doing its thing as it brakes and accelerates smoothly, but it can brake surprisingly hard when it needs to. I just set it to a speed above the speed limit and then let it pace the car in front of me. If you drive on the highways often, seriously, get this option. Things like side view cameras are neat, but gimmicky. Active cruise control is not a gimmick.

Mine says delivered in their system and I'm still waiting for confirmation from my CA that im actually getting it tomorrow. I am really getting pissed off now this is ridiculous...... I guess I'm in the same boat as you. Good luck!

Mine STILL has not even been assigned a truck yet, despite my CA telling me it'd surely be here by today.

Someone, whether it's BMW or the shipper, has had a major screw up on these 2012s.

Somthing is screwy now my CA told me a large delivery is coming in at 12:00 today got my fingers crossed for the 100th time... Then I ask why does your computer show delivered, he tells me thats the way the shipping computers work, I'm like WTF

Talked to CA, our car was released to truck in LA yesterday, it might get Seattle as soon as late today, we may get delivery this weekend or early next week.
