I don't think so? It's disconnected and leads to know where?i was just changing the battery and was taking a look at all the wires and noticed this one just hanging underneath the other wires

I think I have it too. I would not worry about it. Maybe an unused option or for diagnostics.

I think it maybe connects to the negative terminal of the battery.... Could be a IBS (Intelligent Battery Sensor). Have a close look at the negative connecting clamp.
