Config & Pricing with M Sport

Went to put in my order yesterday. Dealer priced out and showed that the DHP was $1400 and MSport $3000. The X3 brochure says that DHP is included in MSPort. Another price list posted shows that DHP is $1300 with MSport. Anyone know the correct information and pricing for this combination?

Dynamic Hnaling (ZDH) Not Included in M Sport Package

Looking at my build sheet, it lists the ZDH Package on my x35i M Sport at $1400. On the 4/1/2011 X3 Package Overview, it also indicates the Dynamic Handling Package is separate from the M Sport Package (ZMP), but notes that when ZDH is ordered "in combination with ZMP" the price is only $1300. The pricing discrepancy I cannot explain, bt will point it out to my salesman. The only sub-item listed on the build sheet under the ZDH pakcage line item is 2VL, the Variable Sport Steering option.

BTW, my salesman and the dealer's sales manager said they never know how the options and packages are actually going to sort themselves out until they go online to enter to the order. Only then do they learn exactly what BMW thinks is included in any given package and throws in a few new packages just to keep everyone guessing. For example, the $3000 M Sport Package has no sub-items, but a separate NC line item (337) is also listed as the M Sport Package and includes the followng "no-charge" sub-items:

223 Dynamic Damper Control
2A8 19" M Alloy Wheels - Doublespoke 369M (not staggered)
2TB Sports Automatic Transmission with shift paddles
2VG Performance Control
3MC High Gloss Roof Rails
481 Sport Seats
4DE Fineline Siena wood trim
715 Aerodynamic Kit
760 Shadownline exterior trim
775 Antracite headliner
7XA M Sports leather steering wheel with paddles

The M logo door sill trim isn't listed anywhere, but shown in all the photos.

Makes you wonder how it all works. If you are ready to order, I would tell you salesperson to go ahead and get it entered. If there are some suprises, you have plenty of time to get it sorted out. My M sport was ordered on 3/22 and it still hasn't started the build cycle. It also shows up as a gray body color, but the sales manager already warned me that the correct color and other details wouldn't appear until it enters the build process. They've had more than a few customers panic when they go the My BMW page to check on teh build's progress only to find their new bimmer is the wrong color.

I believe if you order DHP with the M Sport, the price of the DHP drops significantly.

My Vehicle Inquiry Report

I received a printed Vehicle Inquiry Report that lists the same as what you noted:
ZDH at $1400 with only 2VL variable sport steering, ZMP M Sport Package at $3000, and the NC 337 M Sport Package.

Did you order the BMW Apps? My report shows 6NR at $250 and I was told 6NF Smartphone Integration was required at $150. Again, posts regarding 6NR have said that 6NF was required with 6NR at NC.

They also priced leather at $1450 in addition to the Prem Pkg...

Info is confusing at best...I have a deposit down and now waiting for a production slot and PDC delivery slot. Hope the actual pricing gets sorted out soon.

I also am putting in an order for the X-3 with the M add on. I'm waiting on the dealer to get a production number. (April 4th) per Manager.
He also ran a vehicle inquriy that showed an add on for the leather even with the premium pkg. He said it had to be a computer glicth....It had better be. ..I was going to order the Sport pkg, and the $600.00 19" wheels, but found that the "M" pkg was only $ 1150.00 more and included the sport pkg and wheels.
I don't know what the DHP pkg will cost with the "M' though??

At least the problem is consistent. I am supposed to hear back later this week on a production slot. I'll be OK if they figure out that the ZDH option is $1300 w/ MSport like the Retail Price sheet shows. I imagine this will sort out once we get past the first of the month when the new pricing actually becomes effective.

Probably right about that Start of Production date. Seems to fit the available information. What was the leather color?

My build sheet (aka Vehicle Inquiry Report) includes 6NF, the Smartphone Integration option, but lists it as NC. The 6NR BMW Apps option is right below it and lists for $250.

We've ordered our M Sport with Nevada Mojave leather. It is shown as a separate line item, LUBK, but at no charge. Nevada leather is part of the Premium Package on the price list, but is not listed with the Premium Package on the build sheet.

I looked for the S.O.P. item, but it doesn't appear on my VIR.

I, too, have an order for an M-Sport with DHP and ZPP. I'm noticing on my current vehicle inquiry report that the leather seats are an extra charge despite the premium package. Looking back at previous vehicle inquiry reports (I've made some changes), this wasn't the case before. Clearly they're still settling the details on the DHP/M-Sport combination.

As for the 6NR vs. 6NF option debate, I have it on good authority (BMW NA memo) that 6NR BMW Apps includes 6NF and is meant to replace it entirely. 6NF is no longer orderable as of 4/11 on the X3 (3/11 on some other cars).

Just met with my dealer yesterday. When he updated the order in the system, the extra charge for the leather in combination with the premium package and 6NF in combination with 6NR disappeared. I now have accurate pricing.

At one point, I had a configuration of the M-Sport package with the Dynamic Damper Control (a component of the DHP), but with out the Dynamic Handling Package. This configuration appears to no longer be possible. If you want the dynamic damper control, as of now, you need to add the entire dynamic handling package for $1400 MSRP (different from other accounts which say it should be $1300 with M-Sport since they both share option 2VG - Performance Control).

Since it's now 4/1, we'll see what happens when these things start rolling off the line.

Wonder how long will it take BMW NA to update the website to reflect the availability of: 1) Carbon Black Metallic, 2) M-Sport Package (ZMP) and 3) BMW Apps (6NR)? Germany and UK have Carbon Black available in the config.

How long will it take Owners Circle to reflect the ZMP?

Build Your Own website is now showing BMW Apps, adds smartphone integration at NC. It's getting closer...

Now that we are into April and the M-Sport Package SOP was 4/1/11, has anyone received a production week by their status moving from 111 to 112?
