Hey guys, I have got a few pm's from people asking about me doing their lights and what they look like now... and im happy to say they still look like they did when I first did them. My car spends a lot of time outside and I live at the beach and I have not had any issues with condensation getting inside. These pics are crappy but I took them tonight. Has anyone else tried to take their lights apart yet ?

i tried to take mine apart and i did not succeed at cleaning them.
So i put them back together but clearly did not fully connect the igniter to the bulb. So the bulb and igniter both melted. Pretty much wasted 200 bucks and didnt get clean lights lol |

Fantastic effort! top marks. My headlight reflector mounting has disintergrated with age and gone crumbly (if there is such a word). Xenon light points down and bounces over bumps. Have been refered to a plastic welder who thinks he can manufacter a new mount for me. This is the only way to get the part out is to open the lights and that was tomorrows job, you has just given me some confidence that it can be done. Thanks heaps for sharing and "good on ya" from the aussies

Great initiative, well done. I will do the same thing inside and out with whatever the best 3m kit is.
Question for everyone who took their headlamps apart .... is it possible to remove the orange corner lens to make it look like euro spec headlamps ? And also, Blackedout....what seller/nake of cheap eBay angel eyes are those ?? Are you getting error codes ? I love when someone jumps first and has nothing but success, I think I might have to be the forum guinea pig with tire upsizing. and I will post a DIY of my own on another common mod unrelated to either of these. Thanks everyone for a great, helpful forum !! |

Its Friday and start of memorial day weekend. I'm actually going to do this per-this write up. Will try to post pics, before, after and any unique problems.
P.S. I polished lenses (outside) with M3 lens resore kit before - only to finid out that they're also hazed from inside. Ruins the cars look. I don't even care what others think or notice - its an eyesore to me. Though its not THAT bad, and my MTEC 3.0 make angel eyes look very nice - the motivation was the next level upgrade - is actually replace MTEC 3.0 leds with real 55w 6000k xenon bulbs. And I can already imagine with that much power output the haze on the inside of the headlights will scatter the light from angel eyes, hence this has to be done before xenon angel upgrade. |

Great job bro! Lots of people are scared to do that. Cause this headlights are some expensive. But, like rocky would say " no pain, no pain"

Thanks for giving me another project! They look great! My mechanic told me that they have a guy at his dealer that does the clean-up polishing of the headlights. I'm going to check with him and find out what the cost is. He's going to have my car for 4-6 days doing repairs.
