PGR2 Bimmerfest Road Rally

On 2/24/2004 at 9pm est we will kick off the first ever PGR2 Bimmerfest Road Rally.
We have 6 Bimmerfest members who have entered the league and we are looking to add 2 more. Here is who we have so far:

We will race each Tuesday night for 5 weeks and complete 6 races per night. We will use the following point system:

1st = 5 points

2nd = 4

3rd = 3

4th = 2

5th = 1

6th = 0.5

7th = 0.25

8th = 0

At the end of each night, we can play a couple of rounds of Cat and Mouse.
After we have completed the 29 races, we have the option of sending our top 4 racers to compete against the top 4 racers from the Equipe Road Rally which will be running at the same time our races run.

BimBoy330i (LarryN) will be hosting the races so you will get an invite from him each night around 9pm- the races kick off at 9:30 but we need the 1/2 hour to warm up and make sure everyone is ready.

We'll post the points on Bimmerfest the morning after the races.

I've been playing quite a bit of cat-and-mouse online, and it's a lot of fun. A good way to blow off some steam from a stressful workday, and beat the heck out of a $300K car.

I was wondering the same thing. I just couldn't think of anything witty when I created my gamertag.

Yup, this is going to be one interesting league

I am sure C&M will be the highlight of the evening.

Although nobody would dare bump another racer intentionally, it does happen. If it does happen, no need to apologize

BTW, I answered my own question about accounts - you can't change gamertags without closing your account and opening another. Good thing I used the 2 month trial card that came with PGR2...

HAHAHA! Ahhh, that would be me. I took FireFly's friend out in the first corner of the first race I joined.. I had to apologize.. Was not intentional, but was done nonetheless! I think we were in Opel Speedsters, which I hadn't driven in quite a while. (put me in first anyway )

Firefly, speaking of trash talking, if the top 4 in this league play the top 4 in your other league, can we safely assume you don't have the possibilty of conflict for which team you would play with?

Silroc- we really need you to do all 29 races - we are keeping score.

LarryN- yeah, the guys were talking about your apology when we were playing together last night.

I am only doing the Bimmerfest Rally this time around and would like nothing more than to advance to play the Equipe and EMC guys. We'll also take the bottom 4 from each league and run a few races.

You did not see the best of the bunch the other night- a couple of guys are pretty good at PGR2 and will talk it up when need be.

Xbox Live: 11 (just turned 11) These Kudos are a real pain to earn, since it takes a lot of kudos to get to higher levels. The higher the level, the more kudos you need. Seems almost exponential.

Edited to add single player ranking. Dont let it fool you though, I'm not that good.

I forget what mine is. Single player, I have about 475,000 points. Online I'm at around level 7.

Should be fun! Do we only open it up for 7 tho? I don't want any non-bimmerfest people on my friends list joining in. I guess as we get closer to 9:30 we can make that decision. If we had 8 definites, then we'd be all set.

I'll probably get everyone in on an 8 player session, and do some warm ups from 9 to 9:30pm EST. At that time (or shortly before), I'll set up a new race with invites for as many people as we have gotten by then.

We should warm up by doing some cat and mouse. That's always a good ice breaker (and bumper breaker).

It was hilarious - on a recent game, there were a bunch of friends playing, as well as this guy and his girlfriend, and eventually, the guys convinced the him to let his girlfriend have the communicator instead. I was adding comments like "Oh my god, EEK, a GIRL!" that were way over the top, and hinted that they would start losing to her just to be nice. They laughed, and while they were contemplating all that, I was kickin' their butts.

You should have heard all the guys talking...they were all trying to pick her up. At one point, they were getting rather suggestive (I should point out they all claimed to be and talked like they were in their 20s), and she finally said, "Hey, we should play strip PGR2, let's get naked!" I chimed with "I already am!!!" - Is that Juvenile enough?

So, last night was great - there was one host on, a Brit, who was just chatting us up, and more or less was saying "Oh, I don't like playing with Americans, they're sore losers", but I told him I'm just there to race. He seemed polite enough. So, we began the race with him, and he starts in with "Oh, I'm so going to kick your arses, watch out, here I come" and so on. Of course, the other guy and I blew right past him at the first major right turn (one of the Moscow maps), and he wiped out. He started saying how he couldn't see us, like we'd somehow cheated. He left before he made it halfway around, and we spent the rest of the race trashing him.....way too funny...
