Either one is good, I just like the drill attachment that comes with the 3M kit. Makes sanding a lot easier.

Decided to skip over the second round of clay bar and jump directly to the Meguiar's Headlight Restoration Kit:
![]() Finished product after 10-15 minutes of polishing on each side: ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Will buy some UV protectant tomorrow and apply. This was very easy with my drill and the included polishing pad.

New headlights can wait... More important things to address along the way.

Spent some time today, installing some interior tid bits...
E90 leather handbrake handle: ![]() ![]() Bought an E39 Double Din kit off of eBay as well, needed to replace the Metra kit I've been using. The new one seems to be a blatant rip off of the Janus Design kit, but I have to say it's an excellent value at $60.00 shipped for New Jersey. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() And a video showing some of the wiring and old dash kit. Oh....and yes...disregard the bit about not having to cut the air box. It IS required:

More updates to come, but today I installed the E90 European Sunglasses Holder that I bought from ECS Tuning. I bought a gray one for my wife's E90 (which was a straight forward install) and liked it so much that I order one for my E39 as well. It does not fit natively, so I made some adapters out of some urethane shims that I bought from Home Depot. I'm not quite finished... The final product will have the shims trimmed so they are not visible. First two pictures show the shims screwed into the original mounting holes.
![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Last picture show holder closed with sunglasses in it.
