mute
I have a 2007 525i and the radio automatically mutes when the car is started on occasion ... any ideas on the cause? Thanks ... mike

Possible simple answer are you switching between keys and one of them had the car turned off with the radio on mute, and the car is just remembering the last setting.

I find myself hitting the mute accidentally sometimes.

Thanks ... but that isn't the problem unfortunately
I tried reprogramming the steering wheel buttons to have the "star" button switch between audio sources and this seems to be working ... With the colder weather we've been having my battery seems to be getting weak ... I'm going to change it even though I don't have a warning light for it to be checked/changed ... that might be the underlying cause of the "mute" issue .... I'll definitely test and report back |

What I mean in regards to the "star" button reprograming is that the car "un-mutes" when audio sources are changed via the steering wheel buttons ... oddly enough they don't change when you use the idrive though
