It's christmas all year for me...I get just about everything I want year round. Pretty sure all I'm getting is the usual FC Bayern trikot(jersey)....I'll have the complete collection (Home/Away/Third) for the 5th season in a row (not including goalie).

My God the new Jags look great. CA, Tell Mrs. Audio she wants a Jag XK-S. I saw one today at the Jag Dealer and I just stood there staring at it for a good five minutes. Heck, the new XF-R had me doing a double take.

It (The XKR-S) is a blast to drive. It is very fast and very civilized. A true Grand Tourer. The seats are even better than the E9x sport seats (which I happen to like a lot).

Interesting that it is available in French Racing Blue and Italian Racing Red but not British Racing Green.

I'm sure Tata Motors has nothing to do with that.

Tata owns Jaguar and Range Rover but does not own Aston Martin.

"On 12 March 2007 a consortium led by Prodrive chairman David Richards purchased Aston Martin for £475m / US$848m.[19] Prodrive had no financial involvement in the deal.[20] Ford will keep a stake in the company (valued at £40m / US$70m). The consortium also consisted of John Sinders, an Aston Martin collector; and two Kuwaiti investment companies, Investment Dar and Adeem Investment Co."

Tata is the largest truck manufacturer in India, but also makes the Nano, one of the world's smallest cars and supposedly the cheapest. Wherever you go in India you'll see huge Tatas and small Tatas, the big ones being much more common. The big Tatas are heavily decorated and proudly displayed, and are constantly washed and waxed by their owners. However, regardless of how helpful you might be feeling, you should never touch another man's Tatas.
There are fewer sights more menacing than catching a glimpse of a huge pair of Tatas bearing down on your Maruti on what passes as an Indian highway. Fortunately the Tatas are usually skillfully handled and sway by with inches to spare. Many though have happily died, crushed between two lovely Tatas.
The Nano on the other hand (so to speak) is a perky little Tata and though less common is very much in demand by those who cannot afford the more bodacious Tatas. So, big or small, those who appreciate Tatas and all the joy they can bring may find India to their liking.

Well, I've heard that the Tata and variants are rather fire prone, but this saves the expense of a Ganges River ceremony as wood is getting very expensive. The government of India is looking into this with all due resolve although funds have somehow disappeared.

Sheesh, that guy talked so fast I hardly understood a word he said. The government resolves to look into many issues every year, most are unfunded. Those that are funded usually have the money looted by local politicians.
Sandalwood is the wood of choice for cremation on the ghats. The wealthy use it exclusively, the poorer just use it as a garnish. Sandalwood has a wonderful incense-like smell but the shock of realization of the source has forever tainted the aroma for me. I was on Gandhi Ghat on the Yamuna ('Jumna') during a ceremony in February 2003. It is something to be experienced, somewhat surreal yet so earthy.

I've burned Sandalwood in the house in the recent past and may have experienced the presence of Hindu deities...not sure as recent "feng shui" home consultations may have conflicted as certain "pictures" mysteriously went askew. All this aside, recent car blogs indicate that the Tata would be a perfect low cost car for the U.S. except for about 978 federal motor vehicle safety vehicle standards that need to be fixed. I hear that Tata is working on it.

Remember when this was supposed to be the $2000 world beater? It's my understanding that even in India now this car sells for $2700. They are about to come out with a more upscale model, maybe it'll include seatbelts and a fire extinguisher.
Speaking of deities. I was at the Nandi Temple in Calcutta just after a visit with Mother T's mission, talk about comparative culture shock. I rounded the corner just as a goat hit the ground after being sacrificed. A goat! Why did it have to be a goat? Are there no more bulls?

No bulls are sacrificed in India! Cows are sacred. Many are being set free in the few national parks and turning the park vegetation to mulch. Serious problem with few acceptable solutions.

Uh oh. Are you saying that bulls are (religiously) the same as cows? That explains a lot. Like why the Nandi temple has a statue of a bull in the basement which has eyes that glow red.

I read the Hindu.com religiously as I want to be informed about events on the sub-continent. You're right on the sticker price, but fire insurance rates have sky rocketed to $2000/year (equivalent Rupees). It's almost a wash. Toyota is taking full advantage of this, claiming their cars a "fire-proof" as advertised in the Hindu.

Actually, I will never forget my first view of an Edsel when it appeared in my neighborhood when I was a young lad. It is etched in my memory. I thought it was an amazing work of automotive styling. All the neighbors came out and gathered around it.
The punch bowl reminds me of a similar set that my Grandmother left to my family many years ago. Very high quality crystal.
The center grill always reminded me of a bed pan ....

What did I do ....

I'm driving a car that can easily peg the spedo ... and keep it there all day long.

I'm on a road that used to have a 55 mph speed limit and a 1/2 dozen passing zones, now it's 45 mph with no legal passing zones. But it's still a road built for a Bimmer with little to no police presence and can easily be driven at 60 + all the way without using the brakes.

I'm on the road alone, no one behind me and nothing in sight when what happens? At the start of one beautiful long straight emerges a car from a driveway ... a Korean wanna be SUV .... They couldn't wait 2 seconds to let me pass by so they "must" be in a hurry or on some urgent mission. On coming traffic won't let me blow pass. So, hit the brakes hard and wait for them to get up to speed .... which is ... 35 MPH!

The next 5 miles is my favorite, nothing but turns ... lefts, rights, esses .... AND the rolling rim job HAS to step on the brakes before each turn ....

I cry, the Bimmer sighs and I wonder .... "What did I do today to piss off God so much I deserve this?
