This should be a lot of fun.

Skip Barber Racing School invites the members of the Drivers Club at Lime Rock to experience the new Caterham Lola SP/300.R at Lime Rock Park this upcoming July

This is an exceptional opportunity to view as well as recieve a hot-lap with Chris Dyson at one of the premier racing courses in the nation. Why? Because this is the ONLY SP/300.R in the United States. The event will be held on July 10-11, 2012 at Lime Rock Park in Lakeville, CT.
· Briefings on a new race series concept will begin at 11 AM. In addition to the briefing, Chris Dyson will also conduct hot-laps in the car in order for individuals like yourself to experience this powerful machine.

· If you want to take the wheel, Skip Barber Racing School will also qualify drivers to test-drive the machine on the Autocross on Wednesday July 11, 2012. Beginning at 9AM for the briefing.

Toyota, BMW Cooperation!?

http://www.autoblog.com/2012/06/29/b...r-and-ev-tech/

I think this is just a sneaky way for BMW to gain access to Lexus technology for the IS-F "fake" tail pipe technology. Not good. Before you know it, either the IS-F will have a "stick" or BMW will have the Lexus tranny...how will it go!? Be CAREFUL of any future driver's side floormat placements as a result of his "cooperation!" Toyota still doesn't have it right.

Or perhaps Lexus is after BMWs synthetic exhaust sound through the speakers technology.

But at least when the floor mat on the LexMW jams the accelerator on there is a good chance of an HPFP failure and that the car will coast to a stop.

Sooner or later BMW was going to have to move up market.

That's cool. And kinda creepy. Not your daughter, of course, but the kind of comments you get once you hit 250K views.

(Paranoid parent on)

When my daughter was born I periodically posted videos on YouTube to share with my family. I didn't make them private because I figure nobody would ever find them and the descriptions are quite boring. I was right, very few views and I bet all from my family.

Then, some months ago a stranger commented on a video saying my baby is cute and what not and that she's 14 and very interested in these videos and has watched all of them. Needless to say I haven't posted any in a while. How odd to for a stranger to want to watch my child grow up from day 1 to year 2. They are really quite boring videos if you don't know who it is. I might make the videos private soon.

(Paranoid parent off)

Tell me about it!

She thought her friends would get a kick out of it, and then it suddenly took off. Fortunately, she's been through the internet PR loop before (during the "Month at the Museum" vote), and is taking it with a bit of bemusement.

What she did find creepy was the contacts from the marketing company, offering to "promote her brand".

OTOH, she was smart enough to realize that "While the internet immediately forgets it all, it will remember everything." Nothing there she'll ever be ashamed to show her kids, employers, or schools.

I do have one family video that I posted a while back:

What drove this was her undergraduate honors thesis. The gist of it was that she was offering various unpalatable liquids to genetically modified fruit flies and recording whether they accepted or rejected them (http://blogs.brandeis.edu/admissions...a-fly-barista/). I popped that video up because it seemed appropriate to the work she was doing. It ended up in her formal presentation as a "side smile" while referring to "prior research in the field".

Pet peeve. People who set their Facebook privacy to on but their profile pic is that of their kid...Really, concerned about your face on the intarwebz but not your kids

You might as well set it to private - can't be too safe. Luckily age 1 & 2 looks nothing like age 14

I never did get all the gripes leveled at the E9X cupholders. IMO they are perhaps the best fusion of aesthetics, utility and ease-of-use BMW has yet managed in that department. Then again, I never order a drink in a vat, so what do I know.

I must be getting more laid back with my age. I was passed by a Toyota Prius on the way back from Frankfurt A.M.

My car is turned in for return back to the US. 3 year European delivery. It was fun. She's about to become a racehorse relegated to carriage duty...

BTW My cupholders hold an Arizona Tea can just fine.

The Bimmer was about 30 foot from the city main pipe (this is the pipe that feeds all the water from South street into south philly (by the stadium). Suffice it to say, that's a BIG pipe (the largest according to one of the civil engineers i overheard speaking to his boss). All of south philly lost water

People were evacuated from their homes. I was lucky, barely any water got on my street, and only started to come up the street but never got close to making it on the sidewalk. The police were being stupid. I crossed the caution tape and when I wanted to get back in the short fat cop got in my face hand on his gun. didn't know if he was trying to arrest or threatening to shoot me. He yelled at me. The silly thing - neighbors were standing at the opposite end of the tape. Literally 1 foot from me and it was OK for them to be on the opposite side of the tape, but not OK for me. I told the neighbors not to cross the tape - told them to imagine it was like west and east germany...and the cop was the soldier on the wall...he was not amused.

When the cop left a firefighter took me to my home where I went inside. No water damage at all, or even signs of water. Firefighter said I should leave. Then I spoke to his boss who told me they were not evacuating my block. I went to sleep.

The car....went to see "Bob" (as Jen likes to call him). Water was rushing through it at a very high flow rate (class II rapids roughly). Luckily the mud settled down, the BMW just got a big bath. it will definitely need a detail to get the dirt out of the radiator/grill area. I asked them if I should move my car and they said yes since cars would be towed. Car turned on, no warning lights. Drove it a couple times around the block and parked it. The BMW is so heavy it didn't even get moved

Left to work, called the g/f. She said people can smell on the streets and they are evacuating the area.

I don't have pics, but the ground (asphalt) was uplifted...not by a little bit, but by a lot. Like an earthquake a lot! Water was restored at least partially. I didn't have any last night, but had some today.

Sorry for your troubles, Furby! If you end up getting a new car, go for an "M" (and not the Captainaudio edition).

LOL. But the ///M 330 is super ultra limited edition! I think our ///M-Goat lover tried trading me his traditional M for mine!

BTW. Pictures are on dropbox. I didn't have time to put them on Picasa due to the events of last night, but will do it tonight.
