Nope, car is available for sale. They wanted to take it inside the showroom.

At least one of the members of the Lime Rock Drivers Club ordred one. She didn't get it yet but it will probably come in before the Fall Foliage Run.

There was one on display in the BMW booth at the Grand Am races at LRP last weekend and they were using another one as the pace car.

Not a huge mark-up. They'll be applying a clear bra onto this car, and selling it for roughly 83 or 84k. The sticker says 82

I see paddle shifters...not for me, but they work well on the track.

Last year's (belated) gift was the center-console iPod pouch. For next year I'm thinking either the seat-back nets or Euro (amber) rear turn signals. One step closer to equipping it the way it should have been, before BMW NA stripped the little touches!

Happy Birthday to your beautiful Individual 335! So glad to see it now has the proper lighting controller. When I just need a few minutes of bliss, I still close my eyes and listen to your take offs from dead stops on the way up to the Mt. Washington Hotel. I still want to know what your average monthly gasoline bill runs.

You're right, only joking...I never follow CALPERS investment decisions. Matter of fact, one could do quite well to invest in the OPPOSITE direction of any CA state or union investment fund! Waiting for Gov. Moonbeam to ask for "guarantees" for the under-funded pension plans as did Illinois recently...and Prop 30 may take a dive. Do you have some current New Hampshire real estate brochures?

I'll send you a residency application. We like to vet all potential residents coming from CA or MA. They seem to want to escape to NH, but when they get here the first thing they do is vote to make it more like the state they ran from.

Thanks Kat! Although it was the car's birthday I confess I bought a little something for myself, too: A set of trim removal tools. After all, I had to do the job right. (The right tools did make pulling that vent trim considerably less nerve-wracking.)

CtoC4 was such a perfect day, I felt I would accrue bad karma if I did not make my full contribution to the soundtrack! I don't normally launch the car as hard (or as often) as I did that day, but I do ensure the tachometer needle makes regular visits to the upper third of the dial. I am a firm believer in Italian tune-ups--regular exercise for peak fitness!

Long-term, I'm averaging about 22mpg overall. The fuel bills run about $300/month, give or take. If I really try (and I mean no-fun-whatsoever try) I can eke out maybe 24-25mpg combined--my city/highway commuting mix doesn't allow much better. For the small difference in cost, I'd rather enjoy life!

Was there a special 'deal' for Lime Rock Drivers club members? I hadn't heard the M Performance exhaust before, it sounds nice when you open up the taps, but is calm and collective when you're just driving.

If there was a special deal for club members nobody offered it to me,

Actually the not many members have M3s although Simon, the Club Director and primary driving coach has one and loves it. Another member has an M3 GTS. And the pace cars and safety cars are BMWs.

It was special ordered through Turner Motorsports and is not street legal. It is used exclusively as a track car and travels public roads in a trailer.

Speaking of M3s...what are the odds that I would run across an ad for my former '03 M3 sold in 2008, now on its 3rd owner and located in NY (from CA). The ad mentioned that the car was originally owned by a "big shot" from L.A., and at first I thought it was someone else's car (trying to justify the high price).
My buyer was a "surfer dude" from San Diego. Nice guy, but we had communication problems due to the generation gap, so he brought along his father as an interpreter for the final negotiations.
