Yep, almost immediately.

Of course, if you make a small contribution to our shared Nigerian bank account, we could let you slide.

You are all going to be sued!

I have just had a message from the "Personal Messaging" system.

They feel that the E9X OT thread violates their CBA ans are suing anyone who post personal message material in E9X OT.

The PM section is debating whether or not to decertify. If they do decertify, they will be bringing an anti-trust law suit against Bimmerfest E9X forum and affiliated forums.

This is of course, a personal message from PM to OT and thus they will be suing themselves, and me as well for being an accessory.

An M3 is a midlife-poseurs car.

An Audi isn't a luxury car.

There is no "Sports Sedan". They're all Family Sedan's.

A Station Wagon can never be a "Sports" anything.

The average 3 Series is owned by a 47 year old woman. For every 22 year old male, there's a 70 year old woman too

An ///M Sport is a real M car sanctioned by BMW themselves.

My wife and I average $850,000 a year combined.

Leasing is smarter than owning, costs more in the long run.

You drive a BMW for the status. Deny it publicly all you want, but you know it's the truth.

Mr. & Mrs. Camry hate you and your BMW no matter how much of a "regular guy" you try to come across as.

BMW spent millions over several decades to create the perception of yuppie status. Don't fight it; embrace it.

There are no "performance enthusiasts". That's a savvy myth designed to make you feel less stupid for overpaying for an underfeatured car.

It doesn't matter that BMW's are taxi's in Germany. They're expensive luxury cars here where it counts.

Driving a diesel screams "I am poor" and covers the infant in the back seat in soot.

You drive an old used car bought with Bar Mitzvah money. You're not one of us.

300 HP engines mean nothing in a country with 65 MPH speed zones.

Dusting a minivan mom in a school zone doesn't make you cool.

Driving fast defeats the purpose of a BMW which gets it's kills standing perfectly still.

BJ

I believe BJ added an extra zero, kinda like adding a ///M to 328i. Obviously an easy habit to slip into...

Of course you may. I give rides to Festers all the time — no joke.

I need to add '12 Audi A7 to the list... they just called.

You know, the sport seats are pretty comfy, though I wouldn't say they are to die for, but they are nice. I actually have more leg room (the coupe aspect) which is saying a lot

As for the jobby job. Well the bad news is I start on Monday (I wanted to have a week to go to CA and dive). The good news is that I got a full time gig working for a company which is a department of defense contractor Meaning I work for the DoD

Mike,
This may be OT for the car discussions......but 204 MPH might have exceeded the tire's speed rating unless they were "bracket" Y speed designation, and then certified for that speed by the tire mfgr. You checked? No need to take unnecessary risks!

Speed ratings are very complicated. I drove a Ferrari 599 at 205 mph, a McLaren SLR at 204 mph, and an Audi R8 V10 at 195 mph. In each case, the vehicles were above 186 mph (the tire speed rating "Y") for no more than 15 seconds - I just watched the video and timed it. The venue was a long airport runway. The P Zero tires were brand new (that morning), and the ambient temps were cold. Heat is the big enemy at that speed, not centrifugal force, so I was hardly worried.*

The story runs on Autoblog this Friday.

- Mike

(Note: That is not my lame open-face helmet I am holding in the picture below.)

* I was worried I was going to die... but more exited about going 200 mph than anything else.

I'm sure the McLaren has "bracket" Y. Too dangerous otherwise for its speed capability. 19 mph over 186 (max for non-bracket Y) shouldn't be a problem for virgin tires...short duration...very short, with few such cycles, properly inflated. Don't mean to be too "motherly" but check the PSI yourself before screaming off...we need you here! Seen too many high speed lab failures in my life. Looking forward to the blog!

Wait a minute! Mine's a 2008 (Sapphire Black, optional color!)...6MT...Sport Package...Premium package...etc. VERY CLEAN. Assuming that you live in a gated community, would I arouse suspicion in your neighborhood...or if I pulled up to the gate would they fondle their guns? Only '09 models or earlier? I usually wear some ///M shirts from my previous car; gate ticket for the ///M?
