Exclamation E36 wet carpet any suggestion

In my 95 e36 convertible I'm having a really annoying problem. The driver side carpet of my car where you place your foot, the whole spot is wet and behind the driver seat the rear carpet there is wet and today there's a puddle back there. Does anyone know what is giving me this problem? I have touched the side of the carpet near the door and thats dry. Its like directly the center of the carpet is wet and the same for the rear. Advice PLS!

Check the drains in the very forward part of the top storage compartment. They tend to get clogged up and when that happens water collects back there and then finds its way in the rear foot well area then migrates to the front.

The top storage compartment is the area the convertible top folds into when you put the convertible top down. The drains are in the very forward part of the compartment. There is one on each side.
