Exclamation Help! My headlights are possesed!

This is on an 88 325is.

I got them turned off but my headlights were acting very odd this morning. I had them on on the way to work today but forgot to turn them off. (Is no chime when ignition is off, door open and headlights on normal?) I had previously turned off the car before turning off the lights and noted that the headlights automatically turned off, leaving only parking lights on. With this in mind I didn't think too much of it when I heard a page about a white BMW with it's lights on, I figured they just meant that the parking lights were on. So I just walked out to my car, opened the door and pushed the headlight switch in to the off position.

Here's where it gets a little strange. About 15-20 minutes later the security guard that walks around here asked if I owned the white BMW and when I said yes he said that the lights were still on. When I went out to check, sure enough, my headlights were still on, but not my parking lights. (I hadn't seen my car from the front before.

So I open my door double check that the switch was in the off position. It was.

Pulled switch on - headlights and parking lights on
Pushed switch back off - headlights on
Highbeam switch on - headlights on
ignition on, switch off, highbeams off - headlights on
ignition on, switch off, highbeams on - headlights on
ignition on, switch on, highbeams on - headlights, parking lights, & highbeams on
ignition on, switch off, highbeams off - finally all lights off

What in the world was going on there? I was about to pull a fuse to get my lights to turn off.

That is weird..mine are kinda strange too but not that weird. If I have mine on and turn off the car and then turn the headlights off they will stay on for random amounts of time, ussually not more than 20 seconds or so. But its not a set time, sometimes it will be 5 seconds and the next 15. Anyway, sorry I couldnt help, just thought I'de share.
