X3 35i M Sport Start of Production

According to My BMW, my 35i M Sport moved, as of this morning, to the production phase of the timeline. My dealer tells me that it's the first X3 M Sport of theirs to move to production. Has anyone else seen evidence of M Sport SOP?

M SIf M Sport SOP has been reported elsewhere, my apologies for starting yet another thread. Generally, i try to use threads already underway.

Have you gone to My BMW at bmwusa.com to check for yourself or is that what the dealer is telling you? If you haven't, point your browser at:

https://www.bmwusa.com/secured/content/forms/login.aspx

to login in if you're already a member or to register if you are not. You can then enter your M Sports production number and My BMW will tell you where your vehicle is on the timeline. I understand it takes about two weeks to build an X3, so it would be interesting (to me, anyway) to know where your M Sport is in the pipeline.

In Canada we can't use the "My BMW" on the US website. I have a production number and a VIN as of 10 days ago. I saw the system the SA used at the dealer to get the numbers so I assume they are valid. I will be checking again today or tomorrow regarding what it is showing for status already. We'll see.

Forgive my ignorance but is this is a "real" M-Sport, like the M3,M5,M6, & X5M? Or is it a badging exercise with some suspension bits, interior changes, and body cladding like the current "M sport"?

No, it's not an X3M. It's mostly cosmetic changes and no special badging. Don't know if they're planning an X3M, but since there is an M3, I presume it's not out of the question.

Thanks, I was wondering if they actually did come out with the X3M and somehow I missed reading about it.
