2.5/2.7....please help.....

Hello to all.....
I have a 325ic e30 1992 that I broke a valve and broke a rocker arm as well.
The head has a few numbers on the side tha read....1705-885...... I also noticed in a circle on the head that read 2.5/2.7,,,,,
What I would like to know is this the big bore motor and also the 2.5/2.7 on the side of the head mean that I can put a 2.7 head on this motor.....
Please let me know and thank you very much.....

Thank you for the reply. Well in a nut shell, I was doing a timing belt and I cut the belt to help, well I put a breaker bar on the 22 MM nut on the crank and bumped the starter to free the nut and the bar slipped of the frame and spun enough for the pistion to come up and hit the intake valve and also break one of the rockers as well.....

you shouldn't turn anything with the belt off, much less bump the starter. i'd say you are lucky if that's all that was damaged in your valvetrain.

i believe a more common name for what you want to do, mixing the m20b25 and m20b27 is called a "stroker". There are plenty of topics on it on www.r3vlimited.com.

This e30 is now being parted out. NO body panels are for sale, bumpers/fenders/hood/mirrors/valance or front turn signals. Everything else is up for grabs. Euro grills/cluster are sold, suspension/brakes/LSD/rear tails are already spoken for.
