2005 X5 won't start new MAF sensor.

I have an 05 X5 it stalled and wouldn't start again. The engine cranks well. I googled around and found that it started after removing the connector to the MAF. I drove it down the block and it ran really rough. I parked it and got into the computer with the odometer button tricks, added the last 5 digits of the vin. I happened to have the check side light, check rear lights and trans reset prog. So the lights were fine and I did the reset on the trans reset prog just for fun. It was getting dark so o shut it all down and ordered a new MAF sensor. 4 days later the part came in and I installed it and now it won't start. Still cranks well. I started monkeying around with the PCV system and broke 2 of the tubes. So O just ordered the kit and will replace when it comes in. But I'll be back at square one. I also ordered a Bosch blue tooth scan tool hoping it will point me in the right direction. If anyone has an idea of where to start, besides not breaking more stuff, I'd really appreciate it.
