Hows the luggage room? I want a drop-top, and I wanted the Z4, but the wife wants me to get a 3 series convertible for the extra luggage room.

*I* can travel for a week with a carry on size bag and a laptop bag.
*She* needs a whole closet for the weekend

82% residual this month (according to a CA at a local dealership, still haven't seen this month's buy rates and stuff) are sure making the z4 lease look attractive.

Luggage room pretty nice actually. Good for a few small bags. Soft bags can be squished in better.

Saw lease today, under $400 for 3.0 with 10k per year, 2 year lease.

Car was very nicely optioned at that price.

We honeymooned for 2 weeks with the top down through Germany, Switzerland and Italy when we did our ED last Sept. We bought these for the trip and they work like a charm utilizing every inch of the trunk when the top is down.

Dalej,

82% residual sounds like a 12, 18 or 24 mo. lease, not the usual 30 or 36 months.

I have no prbs whatsoever doing all the regular errands, groceries, etc. The only prb encountered was when I wanted to buy some IKEA furniture. The trunk is quite generous (top down and up) considering that it's a hardtop convertible. Like others said for traveling storage, either get some duffle bags or the customized luggage and you're good to go.

Drive my E89 everyday since 2009, take the time to set the seat up correctly and you can spend an entire day in them

Does anyone know of a company in the US that sells a similar product?

The parent company in Germany does ship to the US, but there aren't any US based dealer I am aware of.

The car is not that small, like a Lotus, for example. I never had any prb w/ ppl not seeing me, and I'm driving a white one in winter.

There will always be lousy drivers, regardless of season.

I only have two cars, a 2005 Honda S2000 and my 2011 Z4 35i. The Z4 is the daily driver since it is the roomier, more efficient, and faster of the two.

What is your winter tire/wheel set-up? And, how much did it cost?

Considering getting one soon, but will definitely be a daily driver, regardless of weather..

kyfdx

Daily driver for me. I still have my previous one (Jaguar S-type), but I use it only if I know I need more space.

For me, I got BMW's winter wheel/tire set (17" 290/Pirelli Sottozeros) for less than $3k Cdn. They work great and have good grip.

Thanks... those stock wheels are pricy, huh?

How are the Pirellis on dry roads?

Ya, also it's not the best look but the smaller the wheel the better for winter. They were the best deal I could find (I only wanted the BMW winter pkg), probably closer to $2.7k Cdn. I only used them using winter, so snowy/slushy surfaces and they stick quite well and dry is good as well. Felt very confident driving w/ them and it's my first rear-wheeled car that I drove in winter.

Thanks... that's good to know..

I've got a lot of experience with RWD 3-series with winter tires... Guessing the Z4 will be similar, just with less ground clearance..

Anyway, it's the wife that will find out first! LOL

Of Course Drive It, It's Only A Car

I own a Z-4 OSI, Roadster 2006 and I do love driving in it. I came from the XKE Generation and this is of another vintage but it rides like a sport car and looks as foreign as it should. I had the choice of the newer body style which to me was just another look alike and decided on a true sports car with a canvas top. I did want a white one with tan top and I ended up with Black and Black top, you can't always get what you want.
Mainly enjoy the ride...and good luck in your search...
