Hello I have purchased a e83 2.0d and am thinking about remapping it. Any ideas of opinions?

Problems are usually caused by failed EGR and engine thermostats.

Thank you for your response.
The 1st thing I did when I got the car home was,
Replace thermostat, water pump, egr thermostat, this was due to the car running cold.
I then removed the egr and cleaned it.
It does go better and returns better mpg 36-37 on the motorway which seems ok.
Just after a bit better acceleration from the lights.
I am not up for dpf removal just wander if a remap will be worth the 200-300.
