2000 m5 wont start but wants to

is there anything else besides the fuel pump i should be looking at?

Sorry to be slow. The camshaft timing sensor frequently goes on the E34s, M or otherwise. It is not easy to access, but not horrible either. There is another ignition spark sensor that attaches to one of the ignition leads by wrapping around the lead. It is readily accessible and frequently fails, but don't be fooled: It is only a diagnostic tool and does not alter starting at all, so replacing it will not solve a starting problem. Any air leak will also make the car start hard and if the battery isn't perfect, the voltage can get pulled down pretty low (9 volts is very low). good luck -Gil Hawkins
