E34 front driver window regulator

Hello all,

I have a 1995, 525i E34 BMW (110k miles), the driver window regulator suddenly popped and stopped working, I followed that DIY guide http://forums.bimmerforums.com/forum...d.php?t=380215, which was very helpful.
I bought a regulator OEM from ebay.
Problem:
after installation I struggled for days to align the glass window in its up/down travel to move within its guides, it almost always bite part of the rubber on its start up travel, I kept playing with the adjustable arm that holds the end of the regulator to the door, it gives you some clearance to move it up or down (about an inch) this affects the tilting of the window for no use, until the hole regulator was distorted.

My question is this due to using an OEM regulator and not the original part? or I am missing something?
