Question z3 window problem ??

hi guys

just got z3 2.8 its been great for 2 weeks or so
now both windows have stoped working ??

had loads of beemers before
but this prob is doing my head in

i,ve replaced the drivers window motor
body control unit for the electrics inside the car
and replaced both window switches

any ideas guys

Usually the sliders need to be replaced and lubricated. Maybe that didn't happen and the motors burned out. If both stopped working simultaneously, I would look for a fuse.

Question hi

hi yu buddy

looked at fuse first before i touch anything
and both motors have now been tested and found to be working
but not in the car

all rails are greased very well

is there a lock of for the buttons ?
what i mean is , can they be pressed in a sertain way as to lock both windows ?

Need to get a diagnostic test of the ZKE module; among other things, it controls the windows, door locks, courtesy lights, etc.

If you were closer, I could hook you up!

ok buddy i shall do that

got it booked in for next friday its a real shame as havent had many probs with beemers in the past ..

but this one is doing my head in
but on a lighter note its a right beast and fast as hell

I must've missed that you replaced the control unit (ZKE); it has to be coded to the car, so that's probably all it needs.

A good scan of the DTCs (diagnostic trouble codes) should make it clear what's needed.
