space rey exterior/ red brown nevada leather interior

Hello to all the bimmerfest members im new here and i have a question.. i just ordered a 2011 bmw x3 with space gray exterior and a red brown nevada leather interior but i have really never seen anything like it in person it just looks good on photos or videos do you guys have any input on this? pls help.. thanks

My recommendation....suspend your order until you see the interior!
That interior color is not for everyone....it looks good with black and white....but really funky with the metallics....the combo of wood, black trim and leather color is pretty busy...

I've see red/brown. I prefer my current Coral Red, which admittedly is a bit too much Coral but the red/brown to me was a little to chocolate coloured. If they did tan I would have gone for that on my X3 order. But...you may like red/brown. I also suggest you get to see the colour, at least a swatch of it.

I agree - this is a unusual combo - you need to see it...the X3 still has a lot of black inside and all the colors mixed together give it a confused look, IMO

This all goes back to Rule #1:

Repeat after me: When selling a car in the USA, water it down and simplify/limit options into packages.

The OP's choice of color combo would not be mine, I suggest a review before it's too late.

I have alpine white w the chestnut and it is great. In fact, I have the light wood as well - Siena I think

If you like it, order it. You will drive it.

I have Black with chestnut and have gotten a lot of complements.

Remember beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

but keep in mind you might someday want to sell it...and then oddball combos/colors you like may bite you in the backside......

One should buy what they like and not worry constantly about resale.

Otherwise we'd all buy the same one or two colours seen at the dealership.

a noble thought but not the most practical if doing a retail contract.....there are plenty of combos that meet all concerned...just something to keep in mind....

As Henry Ford said, "The customer may choose any color he wants.....as long as it's black"

We have come a long way since then, but you aren't keeping it until it dies.

I have shied away from many many cars that have an over red interior even with pricing is very low.

If the cars I see around here (in the UK) are anything to go by there's been a huge shift away from black interiors over the last few years. Re red, if you go back far enough, red was a very typical colour for seats. Got to be the right red though.

LIpstick red in a silver, black or white car is striking and nice - Porsche has done it for years. Sometimes if you are planning to keep the car for 3 -5 years it's good to review what you are ordering, to make sure it saleable. As a general manager of a BMW dealership for 4 years (Sewicley Porsche -BMW, Pgh, Pa), my used car sales manager would not take in on trade some combos as they were "sale proof" and we would die with the car. Many a sunroof was sold to a customer that did not really want it but when told that 95% that buys used, wants a sunroof, they ordered it.

None of this comes into play if you are going to keep the car forever or are leasing....it's the guys who roll in and out of cars every 3 -5 years and are purchasing.

Thank you guys ever so much for the advices and infos especially for the photos... Its been very helpful. I have talked to the dealership and have told them my concern.. They asked me to go there again and check the color combo.. They said that they have swatches to choose from to match the exterior i want.. I guess its not too late to change the color combo. We have decided to purchase the x3 instead of leasing it . Again thank you so much.

By all means look at the color swatches.
The Chestnut interior color is very difficult to capture and reproduce accurately on these websites. Most pictures you’ll see are much redder than it is in reality.

For myself I got tired of decades of owning white, almost white and black interiors. I found the black too hot in the summers, and the light colors hard to keep clean and looking new. I really enjoy the chestnut both from a cleaning aspect and temperature. I also like the way it looks but that’s just me. Your taste may be different.

Someone wrote it above. The issue with the chestnut is the actual hue of the color..It is more like redrock, not terribly rich. IMHO, it looked horrid with mineral silver, yet the one I looked at, they sold to someone.

I have chestnut interior and I would say that it is cinnamon in color. I love it. My exterior is black sapphire.
