Question about "S" mode

maybe a stupid question... but i'm wondering what the changes are when the e65 is put into "S" (sport) mode. i notice that the car changes gears at higher revs but what are other differences?

according to 2 different techs at a dealership, when the car is put into S mode it changes the gear shift algorithms and switches gears sooner at a given throttle rate and raises pressure in the transmission for slightly faster but rougher shifts.

Dont forget that it wakes up the Gremlins that causes the tranny to jolt which feels like someone has rear ended you

The gremlin is actually the transmission raising the pressure of the fluid and other components for a faster crisper shift that is meant for "sporty" driving. To harsh of a shift and I'd be willing to bet that the fluid is either low, or heavily contaminated.

The suspension "technically" tightens up a bit because the motor is producing more torque thus making the rear end squat slightly. In Sport mode in EDC the suspension will def. stiffen up! But not really in transmission Sport mode.
