Boot won't lock with central locking

Hi everyone. My e36 has central locking and when I bought it the boot locked with the doors. But now the boot has started not to lock or unlock. Any ideas. Cheers.

Another possibility is broken wires in the boot to boot lid cable. How are your license plate lights?

They work and also if I activate the actuator manually I can get the central locking to work.

You might have a problem with the wiring at an early stage. The two lock motor wires are considerably thicker and you might expect them to break first because of their much smaller bending radius to wire diameter ratio.
