Low dust brake pads

I'm a little surprised there are no low dust brake pads for the F25 yet. If Akebono Euro Ceramic or similar were available I would pick up a set in a heartbeat.

try a polymer treatment on the wheels first - brake dust is reduced substantially as it will not stick - Rejex - NuFinish - Meguires and others also have a polymer....goes on liquid , wipes right off...2 coats 12 hours apart out of the sun is best...

Obviously that would only ease clean up and not do anything to reduce the production of brake dust, which is what I was discussing.

Replace them with a non fac part and say goodbye to 4 year/50k warranty that is on the pads/discs now in US.

I'll opt for protection and a hose

You mean the maintenance agreement not the warranty. Warranty is for defects. BMW has set up the maintenance intervals so far out that almost none is done in 4y/50k. Try 2 maybe 3 oil changes, couple sets of wipers, and possibly pads/rotors.

I have yet to need the pads/rotors replaced in 4 years on any BMW (except my track car) and even if I did I am not sure it is worth putting up with PITA dusting for 4 years with the OEM pads. Pads and rotors are so easy to change yourself.

Is the X3 your first BMW? How do you like it so far? Did you lease or purchase?

I wish you well changing them out f that's what you want to do....I just don't see the need to change them out when a little wax reduces the problem to a non event.

There is no debate that a polymer wax/sealant makes the wheels easier to clean. I never questioned that. The subject of this thread is the surprising lack of availability of low dust brake pads. Do you have anything useful to add about that?

I never said you questioned it. My original post said FIRST, try the polymer. That's all - good luck in finding pads, I will search also... Nothing on CCA forums? Maybe make a call here:

I don't see that Akibono makes a pad yet for the F25 X3.
