The car was new, not a demo.
The in service date was 5/21, the day I took delivery. The residual is, to the penny, 82% of the MSRP. |

Thanks! Then there obviously seems to be some hidden factory-to-dealer cash that is not being advertised. Awsome deal on an awesome car, either way!

Yes, loaners can be had for the same terms. But i think there might be a time limit of 6 months (not 100% on this) on how long it has been a loaner to qualify for the same terms.

I figure it might be regional, based on time on lot, or maybe a combination if the two.

For the life of me I cannot figure out what BMWNA is smoking if they think this car will be worth 82% of MSRP 24 months from now.

This is a game being played to bury a loss in the future. It's like an incentive that doesn't have to be paid for at least two years. The cost of the incentive will be realized only when the car doesn't cover its residual at auction. From a TTAC post a few years ago, made by commentator : "Maverick": Quote:

I suppose heavily subsidized financing or cash rebates are for the same purpose, to move the metal.

I just hope BMW dies not get into the same trouble as GM and Chrysler with their leases and fleet cars. Times were good for a little while but bit them later.

As for the Z4 lease, there aren't many to be sold to have significant impact on BMW. |

I'm glad I sold my BMW AG stock. This is not how I want to see a company operate if I own their stock.

So, it took me a month, but here are pictures of the condemned 326M wheel that was damaged on my journey home.
I think that a specialized wheel place might be able to fix it, the damage doesn't look too bad to me. Maybe it was simply too far gone to get fixed quick enough to get it back to me quick enough. Or, I suppose, it might be bent out of round in a way that isn't visible to the naked eye as are the two pictured dings. |

The thing about a lease is that if the residual is a high percentage of MSRP and the cap cost is significantly lower than MSRP the lease payment gets crushed. In this case an 82% residual applied to say 70k is $57,400. If the cap cost was say 60k the rent charge is $2600/24 = $108.33. If the mf is .00175 - .0003 - .00049 = .00096 the interest is $112.70 so the lease payment in my example is only $221.03 plus tax on a 70k car. Crazy.
