Dinan anybody?

Just wondering has anyone with the 35i considered doing a Dinan upgrade? Would be kinda cool to have an X3 w/400hp, no? YES!

Kind of early yet but you might want to be careful to insure that all the warranty concerns are met before you spend the money. Dinan of course is a superb tuner and stands behind their work so if it is done at an approved Dinan BMW dealer you should have no problem. How much faster than 0-60 in 5.5 do you really need to go?

Dinan is a good one and they have a bunch of experience with the n55. With that being said, UncleJ nailed it in regards to the warranty issues. These tunes will store all kinds of shadow logs within the ECU and even if you roll back to an OEM tune you run the risk of being exposed.

Cobb is another option out there. While I am not as familiar with Cobb from a BMW perspective I have heard good things and have experience as I drive a Cobb tuned Legacy GT as my daily driver. It is still under warranty but haven't worried much about it.

What for? Race the soccer mom next to you in a Toyota minivan?

Make more sense to upgrade if you have a 135/335 and if you want to track the car.

The soccer moms out here drive supercharged Range Rovers, ML63's or Cayenne Turbos.

we're not too far away from the car being able to be reflashed in your garage thru teleservice for add HP.....who knows when, but think about it...totally possible....
go on a BMW microsite - give em your CC # and wake up to 40 more hp....

TMQ -- surely you jest. What for? lets see. hmmm... to go faster? to kck some butt?!? To surprise some "sports car" drivers? Those are worthy`pursuits imo! Fast cars are attractive to people who dont ever track their vehicles, fyi.

Why is there an M version of the X5, the X6? Ever heard of the SRT8 Grand Cherokee? Most of those vehicles never see a track day. The thought of a vehicle that has true all-weather capability and can click off sub5 second 0-60 times appeals to a lot of folks. Even some soccer moms!

gal, the key words were "we're not too far away from" -- meaning that it may be in the future but not available now. Great idea though!
