Beautiful Alpina 2002 next door

This beautiful Alpina was getting some work done next door. I've never seen one like this in person, just wanted to share some iPhone pics.

I had no idea that this model even existed! That's a stunning car.

Touring. I was fortunate to have owned one of these while stationed in Germany in the 80's (they never sold these here in N America). Mine wasn't an Alpina, though. That is a really rare version.

I'd never seen one either, that's why I took the pics. I have no idea what it's worth, but I'll bet you could easily buy a new M5 for the same type of money.

I'd take that car over a new M5 any day.

Was that in La Jolla? We were there on vacation, last week... Saw it in a showroom along with a couple of CSL batmobiles...

Not an Alpina, but my car is the Scrawny twin brother of the Alpina. "tribute" car pictured in this thread. I am very familiar with the car and know the previous owner well.

When I saw it, it was getting some work done at a fab shop that used to be next door in Ramona.

Probably a different one, then...

We were going down the main drag... my son starts yelling, "Turn around, turn around!".... LOL

Dunno, Ramona is only about 45 minutes from La Jolla, so it could have been the same one.
