Typing this on my blackberry. Picked up an hour ago. Figured I'd have to post my pic right away since I helped draft the 12 hour rule. Experience was fantastic. Slightly dissapointed in the dark graphite II missing xirellic metallic components, otherwise all is well. The premium lounge is fab. I'm going to see how much they'll let me take home in my pockets.

also sigbed the guestbook. Next stop: art car exhibit, gas station and autobahn.

Congrats on your new ride! I am one of a few people who have been waiting for you to pick up and post pics of a new DG 2. I know you said you were slightly dissapointed with it but it does not look too bad on the pic you posted, actually it looks pretty good. Anyways, thanks for posting so quickly and hope DG 2 grows on you. Enjoy your trip!

I have to say now that its in the sunlight it looks a lot better. Its just missing the reallyreally deep sparkles but its stilll nice. Ooh yeahit does 155 with amazing ease!

It would seem your car was painted about 3 weeks ago. I'm disappointed that BMW didn't tell the rest of us about the change in color when our official order was placed. I may have changed my mind about the DGM w/ black and done white. Guess it's too late now. My 550xi pick up is June 23 so I estimate the car will go into production this week. I thought that what really made the paint was the metallic flakes.

Congratulations on your new car! I hope that your delivery experience was every bit as fun and exciting as ours was! (And I hope that your subsequent trip is not as "adventurous" as ours turned out to be!)

Are you planning to drive the Alpenstrasse from Berchtesgaden? We thoroughly enjoyed driving the Alpenstrasse. We had a wonderful two days and saw beautiful countryside and mountains, and quaint little towns.

Thanks for posting the pic of the color. I can imagine it missing a bit of the deep sparkle, but overall the color looks great. And if it is less purple, that is a plus in my opinion. Enjoy your trip!

Beautiful car! Sorry we missed you at the Welt, we left around 10:30 AM and went to Fussen to tour the castle. When are you planning to drop off the car? I am scheduled to drop off on June 1 at 4 PM Munich login out.

Congrats! Yes, my wife and I also had this dilemma...... this dark version of gray works better in bright sunny day.

I'm here in Europe till 10-June. Tonight in Berchtesgaden. The car has absolutely no purple in any light to my eyes. Did a few 150 mph runs onm the autobahn to Garmish.

Hey Spira- this inteercontinental resort is amazing. Really classy, I'm not sure why they even let a guy like me stay here.

. Fantastic views and food. Quiet as can be. Expensive but worth it. But I am in trouble as now this is the standard which I will compare everything else to.

Wednesday I head to Bad Kleinkirchheim. More to follow. No computer for me only blackberry.
