Blower Fan Noisy
Our E30's blower is squeeling and thumping like crazy. I've done a search here and I'm looking for more info. Has anyone ever replaced one, and how difficult was it? Also, how much did it cost. Our local shop had the whole project at around $600, but the car's for sale (I'll be posting the details soon) and we don't want to spend that much cabbage.

Cost for a new one? Not sure but I hear its pricey. Price at a pull a part type yard? About $20? Its been a while but I think that's what I paid for mine.
The job is fairly easy. You access the blower fan through a panel on the firewall in the engine bay. http://e30.bmwdiy.info/blower-resistor/index.html

^ That means you have a faulty resistor or the contacts are dirty. The link I provided will fix that.
