2013 X5 limp mode

I was driving today going about 30 mph in my 2013 x5 35i premium and it went into limp mode. I pulled over and waited a few minutes before restarting the car. I'm thinking it may have had something to do with the temperature because it was 80 degrees here today and I had been driving for a while before this happened.

I also have two 2011 E90 335i. Both have the sport package, but only one has the 18 inch wheels. I know that means that only that car has an oil cooler.

My question is, does the x5 premium have an oil cooler or just the sport activity model? There were no previous warnings about any overheating before going into limp mode.

So when you re-started it back up, it drove fine?

You are asking the wrong question...80, 90, 110 degree weather- and having an oil cooler or not- is TOTALLY UNRELATED to the limp mode.

Did you get any dash messages?

Take it to the dealer, have them write ON THE WORK ORDER, in the actual typed up text "report all diagnostic codes in writing to the customer"...post them
