my second new F10 550i

Hey all,
I purchased a F10 550i RWD in July 2010, getting one of the first builds available in my area. Although I loved the vehicle overall, there were several small issues such as the right pulling steering, as well as a bit of a clunky transmission at lower speeds and 4 runflat replacements due to bubbles.

I just took delivery of a 550i Xdrive Msport, and turned in my old car. I liked the car enough to want one that was optioned more the way "I wanted it".

The new car is a quantum leap over the old one, particularly in transmission programming. The shifts are almost imperceptible at every speed and it rides like a DREAM. This may be partly due to the fact that I had them remove the RFT's and put Continental Extreme DWS tires on the car. The steering is dead on center (I realize that X-drive has hydraulic steering) and feels magnificent. I got the new dash from the 7 and a host of new options that make a fantastic car even better.
So if you want to buy a 550i but are worried about the "little issues" talked about around here, GO FOR IT!!!

Regards,
Pete

If you don't mind my asking, did you take a really big loss on the old 550? I am thinking of trading mine for the CTS-V.

I am getting a new 2012 550i and turning my 2011 550i, July 2010 build. The monthly lease payment doing BMW Euro Delivery is the same and I am out $3500 that I put down initially doing Euro Delivery. In my case the car held its value well.

I like one of the prior posters had paid down enough up front on the lease to where I was in more than good enough of a spot to just drop off the old one and start over with a new one. They likely will make more money off of me than I would like for them to have made, but I guess that is life. They did not have a set point to determine what residual value was of a less than 1 year old car so we just picked a number.

I don't know if the 7 series cluster is just with HUD or not. I ordered lots of options including HUD. The car is space grey with the M-sport package and cinnamon brown interior with brushed aluminum trim. Love it.
It is to be Dinan'ed today. I had Dinan on the "old" 550i as well and cant wait to see how well it does in xdrive with the better shifting of the new car.

As far as the tires, I had to pay for them to swap the tires out, and will keep the RFT's in storage that the car came with (for trade-in I guess).
