I.R. ZHP with Huper Optik Tint

For the first time since I picked up my ED 330i on Jan. 2 the weekend weather has cooperated. Here is my I.R. ZHP that just got tinted yesterday. I had Huper Optik Ceramic Film 35% (now marketed as Stark) installed. With a black interior the films looks dark. I am also posting a picture of the view through the window to give an idea how the tint reads from inside.

It does not really obscure the view much at night. One of the reasons I got ceramic film is that is has negligible reflectivity, aside from no interference with radar detector, GPS, etc.. Huper Optik also makes a virtually transparent film with high heat and UV rejection for use in states where tinting may not be legal or you may not care for the tinted look.

I've been waiting for Huper Optik products to show up here in So Cal. Does it go by a different name now? Maybe that's why I can't find it here.

Your may want to contact Huber Optik and ask for the name of the distributor in your area. Then contact the distributor and ask for a list of installers closest to you. That is what I did.

There is a dealer in Costa Mesa I've been corresponding with. Quoted me $375 for the 325i. Web site: www.wintechtinting.com

I liked your look so much I contacted Huper and found the local installers. I'll probably set something up in the next couple weeks.

Thanks!
Alex

I've been quoted $300 installed for Huperoptik Drei (Metallic). Here is more info: http://www.huperoptik.com/MetalCompare.asp.

Do you guys think metallic is good too? I want a more mirror like finish instead of black.

Thanks

I heard METALLIC TINT is bad

You will find other threads saying that it is better to use ceramic instead since metallic may interfere with AM signals and Comfort Access.

I'm late to this thread, but I can't tell if LVD330i's car has the back window tinted, or if it's only the sides. I really like the look of it, and since I'm in NJ, I'm going to look into using the ArtofTint to do my car. If LVD330 is still viewing the forum I'd like to know if his back window is tinted, and if so, is it the same as the sides, or different.

Here is a picture of my car's rear. It has HO30 all around. Please note that HO Ceramic is like a chameleon, sometimes it will look super dark, sometimes it will be light.

Good luck with your install.
