E82 1M Coupe (2011 - 2012)
In many ways the spiritual successor to the E30 M3. Powered by a M derivitive of the N54 the inline six makes 340hp and giving the 1M a 0-60 time of 4.5 seconds. |

1M Dyno Results
BMW has hinted many times that they have under rated the power of the 1M, but it now looks as though the published numbers from BMW for the 1M equal real life Rear Wheel Numbers.

Uh, not for nothing, but how is this news? The 335is and Z4is have been out for a while; should be plenty of dyno info out there for this motor...
Dyno curves remind me a little of my old chipped S4. That car had a nice flat torque line...

~402 hp at the crank if you subscribe to the 18% driveline loss theory! That's perilously close to M3 hp numbers there.

My 335is dynoed at 319whp on a DynoJet with 93 octane against the 320BHP that BMW advertises it at. Saw the 1M dyno at 331whp against the 335BHP that BMW uses. So the 1M is stronger & in proportion to the advertised spread. It would be a bit more of a tune in the ECU because just about everything else is the same.
Main thing is both numbers are bogus because using the CHP/BHP scale they both are under-rated quite a bit.
