1985 528e not starting

I have a 1985 528e. I have had the car garaged over the winter. I was starting it up once a week. I recently drove it and everything was fine. Over the past week, I tried to start the car, but it would not turn over. I switched out the horn relay with the fuel pump relay, still no start. I started jiggling the relays outside the fuse/relay box and the car started! I let it run for 5 minutes, shut it off and tried to start it again and it did not start.

Anyone have a similar experience?

I am going to guess that the main relay is bad or not making a good connection.

It was the ignition switch. After 26 years, it gave up the fight. Bought a new one and the car is running well.

I had a good used one for 35.
