Mid-Year Changes on 2011 Z4?

I'm considering a July 2010 production 35i which has the 6VC combox and Navigation. Based on what I've read, there were a number of ongoing technology changes through October 2010 production.

Am I losing any functionality by buying a 1 year old production Z4? Were there any other changes over the course of the production year that can't be solved with a software update?
