Question Advice on having a car shipped

Hello all, I am interested in 540iman's 2000 540iA that is listed here in the classifieds. Can anyone recommened a company to haul her back up to Minnesota from Charolette. Am I taking a chance having it delivered this way? I have no experience with buying a car from out of state. Any advice would be helpful. Thanks

Try UShip or Central Dispatch. Those are my two favorite sites for getting cars transported. The transporter will charge you from $400-450 to get it delivered. I often have cars shipped from the New York area to Georgia for about $400. As long as you buy insurance on the car, you have nothing to worry about.

Transporting cross country is done all the time. I'd be more worried getting a PPI and buying a car sight unseen.

You can probably find threads started by 540iman and get a sense of whether he fixes stuff...

Honestly, if the car is maintained (I'm not familiar with it, but assume it is) I'd just fly to the car, pick it up, and drive it home. It's a short trip and the car is awesome on the highway.

Well, it's about 1,200 miles from Charlotte, NC to Maplewood, MN plus airfare and time.

Not a short trip in this case. Even non-stop driving is 21 hours. As enjoyable as that may be, some people don't have the time.

And, if something goes wrong midway, you are at the mercy of the nearest "repair shop"

Transport is the way to go but get a PPI at the least.

Frankly, I'd try to find something more local. Just have patience.
