Question TCU Location in a 2005 Z4

First off I would like to say thanks for all the information I've been able to find through this forum. I know this question has been asked before, but is there anyway to find the location of the TCU? I ripped my trunk apart and was unsuccessful in my attempt to locate it. One more quick question, when I press the R/T switch and try to pair my iphone to it the phone fails to see it. I guess I must be a "newbie" as this is my first BMW, but I love it!!

Thanks for sending me these links, the only problem is my trunk has the battery sitting down inside an "indent" in the trunk. I found the amp for the radio so I'm guessing mine didn't come with the TCU. I have read on here that models 05 and up came standard with bluetooth, but now I'm beginning to wonder if mine just happened to be one of those which slipped through the cracks.

Once again thanks for taking the time and posting a reply

TCU is located in Fort Worth.

Hi there,

The TCU is an option on all model years. If you have the BMW Assist buttons in-between your seats, it is very likely you have Bluetooth and the TCU.

The TCU is located in the trunk, behind the drivers seat. If you carefully lift up the carpet you will see it. Again, if you just want to verify your car has Bluetooth, an easy way to do it is to verify the BMW Assist buttons between your seats.

Chris

There are several captive pins that have to be removed to access the TCU is it is indeed located behind the drivers seat.

When you press the R/T or voice command buttons on your steering wheel, does anything happen on the radio display? If not, you may not have the bluetooth module.
