Hello all, so I go on a business trip and leave the car parked for 4 days.. when I return and start the car, I get the dreaded ! icon followed by the inspection icon (car on the lift), and I look over to the display and it says: "High battery drain!"
I drive off, after a few miles the message goes away.. Its an '07, and it has a battery that is less than a month old, all stock electronics, no aftermarket accessories. I did a search and this seems to be an issue on the 5 series, but I cant find any reference to this happening on the 6 as well... Anyone have any experience with this? ideas? Should I be worried, or just ignore it? Thanks! |

I would check into it.
The way you find the problem is to put a ammeter on the battery and confirm there is a large draw even though the car is off, then start pulling fuses until the draw disappears. When the car is working normally, you should see something like 150mA when you first shut off the car. After 30 minutes the draw should drop down to something like 50mA. If you are getting reading higher than that start pulling fuses to isolate the component causing the draw.
