Front ashtray won't open
Does the front ashtray work electronically/mechanically, or is it a basic "spring and latch" device?

Push it towards the dash.

It doesn't open as it should when pushed, trying to understand how it operates before forcing it open.

Purely mechanical. I had a similar issue a while back when the cigarette lighter popped open with the ashtray closed. I just wiggled it and got a screwdriver behind the edge and popped it open. Good luck

You can remove that cover by placing both hands flat on it and sliding it towards you. I have a bad habit of putting pens right there and they always get stuck in that opening. I just pop the cover off and get them out.

Thanks
Wow thanks for saving me a couple of hundred bucks. I slid a thin knife into the slot and pushed back the lighter that was in the ashtray and it opened! Thanks for posting this!
