How I spent fathers day!.....
First off "Happy afathers Day" to all the dads out their! I decided to clay bar my 7 this morning! & it came out flawless that Windex shine gleams like a newborn 7! I bought the clay bar off chemical guys off Amazon I think for like thirty bucks shipped! This stuff is amazing I've used many clay bars before this stuff really is phenomenal! Definitely recamended!

U really need to at least wax it after clay baring as it takes all the waxes off as well and u leave ur paint unprotected to sun, dirts, and those microscopic pieces of brake dust metal and all that well that's why u clay bar it in a first place right. If u don't seal/wax ur paint ur clay bar job won't last long

Think of claying as basically shaving! The clay is the razor and the lubricant is the shaving creme! Once you shave you take off all the hair, so when you clay you take off all the contaminants and waxes and such off.
After claying the best thing to do is polish with a chemical cleaner (if you are not doing a polish/compound to get rid of swirls and scratches) such as some OTC ones like Meguires Color-X or an AIO like Klasse AIO (very good, but requires some elbow grease to take off) and/or Zaino AIO. Then follow up with a wipedown with rubbing alcohol and then apply wax/sealant. Stay away from carnuba waxes as a base since they don't last long (use them as the last step wax!). Use a polymer such as Blackfire Wet Diamond or Zaino and then finish up with a carnuba if you wish. IMO zaino delivers really good results but it can be a BIG PITA and then the stress over accidentally stripping it off. In all honesty, get some P21S Car wash or some Chemical Guys Citrus Wash and get a good sealant such as BlackFire Wet Diamond! As far as quick detailer, Zaino Z-6 is a great one. Zaino AIO is good but not as great as Klasse AIO. Granted Zaino is easier to take off but the sealant it applies doesn't last that long. |

I used Mother's Clay Bar on my 745li last friday then used Meguiars NXT wax and was pleased with the results. I keep hearing about the Zaino stuff so I will have to use that next.
