Ordered my 550xi M Sport
Just ordered. Carbon/Black Nappa/Anthracite w/ Premium 2, Driver Assistance, Seat Package, Head Up, Keyless, 60/40 Seats.
Super excited, needed to share with people who might appreciate it! Thanks also, this forum + Edmunds helped make my 'hard' decision easy. Now just need to wait 6-8 weeks. |

Did you order a 2012 or 2011 and if it is a 2012 do you know the pricing?

Thanks highyo and bmwarchitect. Good idea on the ship, would love to track it. Was going to do Euro Delivery but apparently you can't negotiate more than the 7% off MSRP, and I have been to the Museum already.
To bhaas - it was 2011. I couldn't resist the 61% Residual (12k, 36 months) and low money factor. Plus, $1200 below invoice. Now - i had always done specific searches on this forum and until just now never read the current topics, and I am now scaring myself reading about the RFT's.. It seems well discussed already, but any further opinions on getting tire insurance.. I drive 20% time in NYC, rest in NNJ (almost as bad), so considering yes on the insurance. What a shame to read all of this, bumming me out on the day i bought my car. |

That would be great re: RFTs. I guess I will check before deciding on the insurance.
Just to clarify: people are getting 11-12% WITH ED, or are you saying average right now is 11-12%, so ED at 7% doesnt make sense? Thanks! |

Congrats, and now consider canceling order. Please check out the European Delivery subforum. There are many CA's that will sell you a 550 for $500-1200 over ED invoice. The additional savings should pay for a trip to Europe and 150mph run on the Autobahn.

Sounds like a great F10! The tire/rim insurance in NNJ is a no brainer. Your replacement wheels will probably be summer RFT if they give you the alternate of the Goodyears so you will have some decisions to consider in the winter time. Stay tuned to the forum as the RFT situation develops

You can get an 11-12% discount from US MSRP if you do an ED. Typically, no buyer would consider doing ED for a 7% discount. A 7% discount from US MSRP gets you to US invoice. Follow Dunderhi's advice and read ED forum.

Also, you can use bmwconfig.com and select ED delivery price. The configurator will add $1,000 profit to ED invoice price when you select finance. Typically the best deals will be $700 -$1000 over invoice for an ED (before taxes). Hope this helps.
P.S. If you are leasing and are not familar with Multiple Security Deposits (MSD's) you may want to read up on those on the Ask a Dealer forum. Search for "BMW improves the MSD program". The thread is near the top at the moment. Last edited by bmwarchitect; 06-25-2011 at 04:56 PM. |

Thanks all, lots to think about. Prob will still end up passing on ED due to some personal things (spent plenty of time on the Autobahn, seen the BMW factory plus many of the sights - although not in my OWN bimmer of course - but the real reason is my 3 young kids, hard to vacation now!).. But good advice.
bmwarchitect - I am familiar with MSD's thanks. Again thanks everyone. Last edited by waiting550xim; 06-25-2011 at 05:37 PM. |

Wow, what a great site bmwconfig.com... I know, I know I am a newbie to BMW!
Interesting re: ED... I am at $1k below US invoice now, and if I use $1000 above ED invoice, that's about $2k difference. At 61% residual, the trus savings to me is about $800 ($780 + finance).. so with a ticket to Munich that is about break even.. funny how that works. |

Hah.. I came to celebrate my FINAL decision, you guys are bringing me nothing but new decision, I love it!
I am using Open Road, but spend alot of time near Prestige so would not be a problem... I checked out the Dinan mods.. I am leasing though. Next time! I also will study these forums even more next time. What a difference having all the #'s these days. |

Most people here get 11 to 12% off of US MSRP doing BMW Euro Delivery.

Pharding - wait a sec.. I see your note..ED Residual is calculated from US MSRP? Wow.. so my savings would actually be more like $1600. Maybe it's time to lobby the wife to agree to the Munich trip.

Yeah I got ~$1600-$2200 (depending on how much below US MSRP).. was saying $1600 to make myself feel better about not doing ED, but you got me.
Thanks. Agreed, I think I will love the car. |

Well, being conservative isn't bad thinking as you never know until you make the deal. Post some photos when you connect with your car.

Can I ask what that list price on the car was(MSRP), cap cost they are using for the lease and your monthly lease price excluding sales tax? Also, were you a previous BMW owner and did you receive any loyalty discount? thanks

Dealers will attempt to base the residual on ED MSRP instead of US MSRP. This makes a huge difference in monthly payments.
