V1 Owners - Constant K Band Interference?

Hey, you V1 owners. I recently installed my trusty V1 in my 535 and I took it on a long trip this weekend. During the trip, I experienced almost constant (but not constant) V1 K Band alerts.

My car has self-park, park distance control and blind spot monitoring. I turned off blind spot monitoring but it didn't seem to make any difference.

Anyone else experience this? I know it's a known issue with Audi Side Assist but haven't heard of anything with regard to the F10.

Thanks!

No self park nor blind spot protection. No problems like that with my V1 in the past 8000 miles.

Hard wired my new 535 2 weeks ago and have had no false positives. Drove 2000 miles already. I don't have Drivers Assist Package. One issue that did come up yesterday was the hard wiring failed but the V1 is fine. Will bring it back in tomorrow.

I have heard from others the drivers assist may give false readings. Hope that helps

I had an older model V1 that did the same thing. I do not remember if it was the K-band or not. I had it hard wired into my new F10. It worked fine at first, but then started acting up with constant false signals. I called the Valentine One Co. and they offered me two choices; repair (it's broken) or an upgrade to its newest model. I took the upgrade. It works great.

No false alarms here. Older V1 model, no self park no driver assistance package.

Hmm, mine is pretty old (bought it in '99) so I wonder if an upgrade is in order.

What is the preferred way to mount and wire the V1 in the F10 using the remote? Pix if possible.

There are a couple of threads, but I powered mine out of the sunroof console, and ran the remote display down to where the A-Pillar meets the dash.

You didn't say where you were driving when this happened. My V1 purchased last July was falsing K Band every mile or so on my highway drive into work. The cause was the traffic sensors installed by several states to monitor flow. I contacted V1 last fall and they said they were working on a firmware update. I got a call from them last week and was offered the beta version of 3.873 to try out. I sent mine in for the update and got it back on Friday. This new update is supposed to cancel out the traffic sensors, although I haven't had a chance to test it out.

The traffic monitors used by the states of California, Colorado, District of Columbia, Hawaii, Nebraska, North Carolina, Ohio and Washington are from "Speedinfo". If you live in any of these states and are bothered by these sensors you may want to contact V1 for an update.

I get random k band hits , I thought it was temperature related for a while ( when my v1 is hot) it would do it the most ..... it has stopped ... ill look for new firmware

What I do get that drives me nuts is laser hits from new Lexus's and Volvo's .... even the Fords with the auto park feature do it ... especially when being tail gate'd or tailing someone

send from space command

I have a brand new V1 and I am getting constant spurious random K. Driver's assist is on, I'll try it turned off on the drive to work today.

Driving a route I have done many times with far less falsing. First time in this car.

The weird thing is that at times it would go away but if a car came up behind me it would come back.

Used the V1 website upgrade check and it says I have the latest software, although I guess if what you're talking about is a "beta version" then it may not be publicised yet.

I notice a lot of false alerts in NC for the speed sensors on the K-band in the state of NC. Honestly, I barely use it here, given the relatively light enforcement.

My V1 is going crazy on K band.

Confirmed as it routinely indicates multiple positive hits as I drive in my neighborhood, then continues as I pull into my driveway.

Never did this when mounted in my E60???????????????

I have Drivers assist Pkg (self-park, park distance control and blind spot monitoring, lane departure ) as well.

Those two modes only screen X band according to the manual.

I ahve not driven the car with the V1 in it for some time (illegal here) but plan on setting up K band auto mute to deal with it.

I can probably confirm this. I was on a two-lane country road recently and when there was a F10 driving the other way, the V1 went off like nuts as it passed by. Probably related to the blind-spot and/or lane change assistant.

I've had mine go crazy on KA, and would tell me there was 2-4 cops on the road with radars on. I believe it was heat related as well, because it was when I was driving in the desert to Vegas from socal. This would happen for a couple of minutes and at random intervals. After I was out of the desert, it calmed down.
