okay so i have a 1997 318is and i recently rear-ended someone
my grille was pushed in and my hood wouldn't open so the mechanic had to break it open and now i have a wire hanger holding my hood shut he said something about needing a hood cable with two latches ? and i cant find nothing of the sort....a little help anyone? it would be greatly appreciated.

I would have to see it to know exactly what you need, but it sounds like someone suggested you need to replace the hood locks and cable.

Thanks I believe I found what I need, I don't have any pictures since my mechanic took the broken parts.

That's a no no. Your mechanic cannot take your parts without you giving him permission. This happened with a ps pump on our old slug bug and we asked to see it and they threw it away so the gave the new one to us for free.
