noisy blower fan

My blower fan slightly squeals when one. I'm wondering if some debris got in there (happened to my MDX). Is the fan accessible from the cabin filter area under the hood or from the glovebox? I hope the blower motor is not going.

Mine is kinda noisy too, but 600 watts of audio quiets it right down. I would say a little white grease to the center pin of the fan might cure that.

Remember that area is exposed to intense heat from sun light and things will dry out faster there. So lubricants will certainly have a shorter life.

Ha - unfortunately I'm only rolling with the BMW Business head unit. Does anyone know if the fan is easily accessible, or is it one of thse take apart the dash details?

I had a noisy fan, it was like cricket chirping at certain fan speeds (second or third setting I think). Turned out it had lived enough and was replaced under CPO.

The key phrase is "Remove heater bulkhead".
The fact that cylinder head removal is required for some cars implies this "heater bulkhead" removal occurs from the engine bay in the e83. .??
