1995 325i. need some buyers advice.
i know theres a craigslist add for this, but im selling my 525i
in hopes to get something 3 series, specifically e36! so i came by this: http://cleveland.craigslist.org/cto/2468765696.html and i was wondering what you guys would think of it. im going to see it in person tomorrow. and from past experiences anything to do with timing, or vanos (which i know limited amount about) is a bad idea. tell me what you think.

Lower chain tensioner is really easy on that motor, and if you want to do the vanos stage two rebuild (replaces sprockets upperr tensioner and vanos seals) there are a bunch of good DIY writeups online. Right after I bought my m3 the timing chains started to make alot of noise also. I did the lower chain tensioner and a vanos seal replacement, and it sounds like a new motor. If you are handy with a wrench, i would try to pick that up for about 1k. Good luck.

The seals, anti rattle kit, special socket, and vice covers are about 80 from beisan systems The rest of the timing tools (yes neccessary) can be found in a package deal on ebay. All in all, could be done for about 300.00
