Door Sill removal and installation

Hey Everyone

Just looking for a good DIY to replace the door sill's. I saw 30 YR veterans DIY, which is great but hoping to get a little information for just removal and replacement.

My driver's side sill burnt out and I was able to a find a pair on eBay for $100.00. Also if anyone can tell me if I would need to buy additional clips of any kind that would be great.

Cheers

Door sill clips

You may need to replace your door sill clips. I knocked my sill cover off and reattached it sans lighting by installing 4 new clips from the dealership @ $1.20/each. There are more attachment points than 4 and a different clip to anchor the ends of the sill, but all I needed were 4 along the white plastic housing underneath the sill cover to firmly reattach.

Takes a little maneuvering to get the clips to seat correctly also.

If someone had info on how to replace the shredded power lead, I would be most appreciative.

BTW, the part # for the clips is 51-47-1-840-960

Hope that helps.

You would have to detach the entire door moulding, it's like 3 piece thing, by simply pulling it up. Then you will see the lead going through the body (small hole, caulked) in to the interior, then, there will be a connector (on the inside oof the car).
BTW: Please point me to the eBay site where I can buy some illuminated sills for $100
