Just Curious: How Many Miles On Your Z3 or Z4?

With the advent of nice weather and a fair amount of time on my hands, few things are more enjoyable than driving my beloved Z4. I've been putting some serious mileage on it recently - it's a 2006 and I have over 50,400 miles (17,000 miles put on this year alone).

What about you? How much mileage is on your car(s)? Have you encountered any significant problems? Please fill us in . . .

Interesting, I, too, replaced my fuel pump (at around 40k miles). I also had a starter go on me. Thankfully, I have the extended warranty.

BTW. your car is gorgeous! Love that color combination.

My 2006 3.0i has 68,500 currently, I purchased it with 39,800 in June 2009.

Repairs so far include 3 oxygen sensors replaced under warranty, the passenger sideview mirror glass fell out shortly after I purchased the car, not covered, I glued it back and so far it seems to be holding.

Fog lights were filled with water when I purchased the car, they were replaced under warranty when the first oxygen sensor failed about a month after purchase.

Window seals replaced last year under warranty.

Computer replaced in May under warranty.

Hydraulic motor for convertible top failed in April, I just got approval for the repair last week.

I purchased my 2004 Z4 new and 7 years and 70000 miles later she still runs great. Both side motors have fallen off and I had to glee them back on.

2007 z4mc

2007 E86 Z4MC just turned 33,000 miles many of which are HPDS miles.
Car has been relatively trouble free with only warranty repair being replacement of a weeping power steering expansion hose. Also upgraded the left side motor mount bracket bolts as well as installed Nord-Lock washers on the rear sway bar bracket bolts.
Replaced stock suspension at around 20,000 miles with a TC Kline DA coil over system with 500# springs front and 600# rear.

My 2000 Z3 2.3 is at 158,000. Only major items replaced due to general maintenance was the cooling system...new stewart water pump, radiator, hoses..did all that back in 2006 and all is still good to go. Other than that I changed the suspension to H&R/Bilstein. I've had the car since 2004 and have to say it's been one of the best cars I've ever owned.

My 2001 X5 4.4 is at 144,500 and it too is running strong with no issues. Most of the preventative measures and major issues common with this model were taken care of before I bought it. So far so good.

Thanks!
The red interior really sold me on this car. I got it used and no extended warranty. Fortunately this forum is a great info source for DIY repairs.

2008 - Bought last October at 20,000 +/- at 29,000 now. Before I got the car it had roof motor failure, replaced under warranty, it's got something wrong with the wipers that is due for to be service under warranty in a couple of days. Back of the seats were rubbing rear wall and replaced under warranty. If it happens again I will have upholstered in leather. Why they put cloth for a back on a leather seat?

7/12/2011 - Update - Wiper fluid motor died, replaced under warranty. Learned something new, Head Light washers only come on once per key cycle.

So far really happy with the car.

2nd Z4. I did not put that many miles on the 04 as I have this 08. But it was not as much fun as this one is.

Best regards

Unbelievable! On a cold winter's day, I got to work, closed the car door (didn't slam it), and watched the sideview mirror on the passenger side fall to the ground in many pieces. The BMW service center overnighted a new one and it cost me $200. The service supervisor said he never heard of this happening. I thought mine was an anomaly so I did a double take when I saw your post.

Hopefully, they'll be no future replacements (if you receive my meaning).

I noticed the mirror vibrating while I drove, when I got home I touched it and it fell off into my hand so I was lucky and was able to glue it back on.

Your car looks (looked) just like the one in GoldenEye! Best of luck, that is a great color. In fact, light blue is my favorite color period!

Purchased my CPOed 2006 3.0si in August 2009 with 15,100 miles. Now has 19,000.

Absolutely NO problems! (They're probably waiting for the CPO warranty to expire!!)
