97 Z3 2.8 with lots-o-miles (124K). She's been around the block a few times. She's undergoing some nip/tuck surgery. She should feel 20 years younger when she's done.

It is so nice to see how many miles / km's these vehicles can handle when properly cared for!

My guess is your car also has the M52B28 engine like mine? These things are rock solid and so reliable. My engine has over 273,000 km\s (about 170,000 miles) and no knocks or noises, runs like a dream. The previous owner neglected the car but like you put lots of TLC in and the car appreciates it. Feels great to know the timing chain does not ever need changing unless it starts to make noise or what not vs the belts that go at about every 100,000 km's. A bit off topic but any mods made to your engine? None done to mine but all they really need for post folks would be a chip and possibly exhaust. Did the golf tee mod on mine to make it less restrictive.

I had a 2004 3.0i, non sport, same color combo. I really like that color combination. Unfortunately, I wrecked it and it was totalled....

Very impressive! I hope one day I can post that my car has that kind of mileage and is continuing to run.

My 93 1.9 Z3 has....

202k miles. She was a repo @ the credit union when I got her in Sept of 97. She has been to 38 states, Canada, and Mexico. Next year she should hit 11 more states. The trip to Alaska should be fun, round trip from East Texas will be close to 10k miles. Subject line is incorrect it is a 96 1.9 Z3.

My 98 Z3 roadster currently has 133k on the clock. I just got back from Tedfest in Mississauga Toronto. Round trip was over 1,000 miles and had zero hiccups along the way! Drove from Chicago thru IN, MI, Canada. One the way home I took the long way thru Niagara Falls, NY, PA, OH, IN, and back home. Good times! My e39 M5 has 132k on it also, and I do plan on taking it to the PVGP later this month.

180k on my 97 M44. With accumulating 250 miles a day 6 days a week on it I should be busting through 250k by this time next year .

Amsoil fluids throughout aside from BMW coolant and ATE brake fluid. Engine oil is on a 10k interval with Hengst filters every 5k, tranny and diff on a 25k.

It was still running fine on the original water pump, radiator, fuel pump, alternator and starter at 150k.

All of these parts and 200 others had served me well so they have all been retired in the last 30k. But to be honest, I wish it would break down more often since I have so much fun tooling on it.

I purchase mine from autotopsdirect for $330. They of course lack the replaceable zip in window but share many of the features and quality of the OEM top which make the installation really nice and the finished job grade A. I am now in the habit of doing mine every 2 years which allows me to care for it somewhat but not obsess over the small stuff that will inevitably happen to it using the most stringent practices. I'll gladly pay the $165 a year it would cost to always have a brand spanking new top on it now

No mods RW. I am replacing the thermostat, therm housing (aluminum), water pump (Stewart), and pulley (aluminum) in a week or so. Waiting for parts. The car has lowering springs and aftermarket replica BBS LM wheels. You'd think this would seriously affect the ride quality but I was amazed to find that it did not. I'm not a purist but I want to keep the car as mechanically stock as possible. Only common sensical upgrades will be made to correct what I feel are design flaws. I enjoy wrenching to prepare or prevent rather than to repair a major failure if I can help it. Your car looks great; clean and well maintained. Judging from your response I'm sure it will stay that way. You mentioned the 'golf tee' mod. I will have to research that one unless you care to elaborate. Keep us posted.

This post made me smile. How could you not feel attached to this car?! It has served you well for a long time and the two of you share quite a history.

'07 Z4MC @ 50K miles. Only problem I had was with the original windshield seal cracking and generally looking terrible, which was replaced under warranty.

Nice - when I was considering a Z3 roadster (years ago) that color was what I was looking for, and may be the only time I looked for a non-black BMW.

Mein Auto: 2000 M Roadster
I have a 200 M Roadster. Bought it in 2008 with 78K miles and it now has 96500. Drove it to South Carolina when I took one of the 2 day performance driving classes at the BMW center ( I live in the upper Peninsula of Michigan and my toy is put away for the winter).

Since gettiing it I have replaced shocks and caps in the rear tower, water pump at 96K miles (info re: service showed fuel pump replaced at 23 K miles). Just completed my Inspection II service and replaced the fuel filter proactively.

Typically, I'll do an oil and filter replacement in mid- October, store it for the winter and get it out early to mid-April.
